By placing an order with Evening Attire Hire, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions. Please read these carefully before booking your hire.
1. Hire Period
Each dress is hired for the dates selected at the time of booking.
The dress must be returned by the agreed return date. If the dress is being posted, it must be dropped into a PostShop by the agreed return date using the return postage provided by Evening Attire Hire.
Customers are responsible for ensuring the dress is returned on time.
2. Payment
All payments must be made through the Evening Attire Hire website at the time of booking. A booking is only confirmed once payment has been successfully received.
By completing your purchase, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
3. Cancellations & Refunds
Once a booking has been placed, the dress is reserved exclusively for the renter for the agreed hire period.
If you need to cancel your booking, please contact Evening Attire Hire as soon as possible.
Cancellations made 14 days or more before the first day of the hire period will be eligible for a full refund.
Cancellations made less than 14 days before the first day of the hire period are non-refundable. This is because the dress has been reserved for your booking and there may no longer be sufficient time for the dress to be hired by another customer.
Once a dress has been posted to the renter, the booking is non-refundable, regardless of how much notice remains before the hire period.
Refunds will not be provided if the dress does not fit, the renter changes their mind, or an event is cancelled. Customers are responsible for checking the available dress measurements and selecting the appropriate size before booking.
If Evening Attire Hire is unable to fulfil a confirmed booking due to the dress being unavailable, damaged, or otherwise unable to be hired, the renter will receive a full refund. Where possible, Evening Attire Hire may also offer an alternative dress of the renter's choice, subject to availability.
In exceptional circumstances, Evening Attire Hire may consider a cancellation or refund outside of the above policy at its discretion.
4. Dress Condition
All dresses are inspected before being sent or handed over to the customer.
Customers are expected to take reasonable care of the dress throughout the hire period. The dress must be returned in the same condition it was received, allowing for normal and reasonable wear during the hire.
Customers must notify Evening Attire Hire as soon as possible if they notice any issue with the dress upon receiving it.
5. Damage
Customers are responsible for any damage that occurs to a dress during their hire period.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- Rips, tears or holes
- Broken or missing zips, hooks, buttons or other fastenings
- Significant stains or marks
- Damage caused by washing or cleaning
- Damage caused by alterations, pins, tape, glue or other modifications
- Missing or lost parts of the garment
Minor and reasonable wear is not considered damage. Each situation will be assessed individually based on the condition of the dress when it is returned.
6. Cleaning & Care
All dresses are professionally cleaned and inspected by Evening Attire Hire after each hire.
Customers are expected to take reasonable care of the dress throughout the hire period and return it in a condition that is reasonably consistent with normal wear.
Customers should take particular care around makeup, fake tan, food, drinks, oils and other substances that may stain or damage the garment.
Normal cleaning required after a hire is covered by Evening Attire Hire. However, if a dress is returned with excessive staining, marks, odours or other mess that requires additional or specialist cleaning, the renter may be responsible for any additional cleaning costs incurred.
Customers must not attempt to wash, dry-clean, repair, alter or otherwise treat the dress themselves, as this may cause damage to the garment.
7. Late Returns
Dresses must be returned by the agreed return date.
For posted hires, the renter must drop the dress into a PostShop by the agreed return date using the return postage provided by Evening Attire Hire.
If a dress is not dropped into a PostShop by the agreed return date and is therefore returned late, the renter will be responsible for any consequences resulting from the late return.
If a late return prevents or affects another customer's confirmed booking, the renter responsible for the late return will be responsible for reimbursing the affected customer for the amount they paid for their hire.
This may include the hire fee and any reasonable postage costs paid by the affected customer where the late return has prevented the booking from going ahead.
If you are unable to return your dress by the agreed return date, you must contact Evening Attire Hire as soon as possible.
8. Lost or Unreturned Dresses
If a dress is lost, not returned, or returned in a condition that means it cannot reasonably be hired again, the customer may be responsible for the cost of replacing the dress.
The amount payable will depend on the individual circumstances and the value of the garment.
9. Postage
For posted hires, Evening Attire Hire will organise the postage of the dress to the renter and provide the return postage required to send the dress back.
The renter is responsible for ensuring the dress is dropped into a PostShop by the agreed return date using the provided return postage.
Once the dress has been dropped into a PostShop, Evening Attire Hire is not responsible for delays caused by the postal service.
10. Fit & Sizing
Customers are responsible for selecting the appropriate size before placing their booking.
Dress measurements and available sizing information are provided to assist with choosing the correct size. Evening Attire Hire cannot guarantee that a dress will fit as expected, as fit can vary between individuals and dress styles.
11. Alterations
Dresses must not be permanently altered in any way.
This includes cutting, sewing, hemming, removing parts of the garment or making any other permanent changes.
Temporary alterations such as pins must only be used where they will not damage the garment.
12. Events & Personal Use
Dresses are provided for personal use during the agreed hire period and must not be resold, sublet or hired to another person.
The customer must not allow another person to use the dress without prior approval from Evening Attire Hire.
13. Unforeseen Circumstances
Evening Attire Hire is not responsible for circumstances outside of our reasonable control, including postal delays, natural disasters, venue cancellations, event cancellations or other unforeseen circumstances.
We will always do our best to work with customers to find a reasonable solution where possible.
14. Agreement
By completing a booking through the Evening Attire Hire website, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
Evening Attire Hire reserves the right to update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The terms applicable to your booking will be those in place at the time your booking is made.
